White Chocolate Popcorn

  • ½ cup white unpopped popcorn
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 (9 oz) bag white chocolate chips or square

  1. Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler or in a microwave (watch closely if using a microwave).
  2. Pop the popcorn kernels.
  3. In a large tub, drizzle melted white chocolate over popcorn. Mix and fluff as you go. You're looking for a light coat of chocolate on the popcorn -- too much will make the popcorn soggy and spongy.
  4. Let popcorn cool in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens.

Note: We usually double the batch for large gatherings. Also, unbuttered microwave popcorn may be used. One batch would require three 3 1/3 oz bags of popcorn.

Yield: 6 servings per batch
