Caramel Corn

Yield:

6 quarts of popcorn

Ingredients:

  • 2 batches of ½ cup popcorn (popped)
  • 3 tsp. Oil (per batch)
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup Corn Syrup
  • 2 sticks Margarine
  • ¼ tsp. Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda

Directions:

  1. Place brown sugar, corn syrup, butter cream of tartar, and salt in a large pan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Stir over medium heat (260° on candy thermometer).
  3. Remove from heat. Stir well.
  4. Add baking soda. Stir.
  5. Pour over corn. Mix well.
  6. Bake at 250° for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Spread on waxed paper.
